It is not too early to plan your gift list from Old City Cemetery. The Cemetery is offering seeds this year from the historic plants that grow here on the grounds. Our gardening volunteers have moved inside to extract the heirloom seeds very patiently and package them in stocking-size packets. Black Hollyhock (Alcea rosea ‘Niger’), False Indigo (Baptisia), and Nigella are a few examples of the varieties available for sale. Each packet is $2.50.
Our 2015 Old City Cemetery Calendar will be available soon for purchase. This 4″ x 6″ calendar features unique and varied Cemetery images every year. The calendar alone is $9.95 and for an additional $2.00, a freestanding or magnetic acrylic frame is available.
Beeswax candles are a unique hostess gift for the holidays. We have three different sizes of tapered candles: 6″, 10″, and 16″ in both natural and green colors. They are all made locally in Lynchburg. Prices are from $3.50-10.00 per pair.
New Cemetery notecards are available for $12.00 per package. Each package features six different memorable images from the grounds. The same images are available as individual magnets at $3.50 each.
For the true Old City Cemetery fan Stories of the Stones has been reprinted. This booklet contains information about each of the Cemetery’s museums, Civil War history, prominent residents buried here, and much more. $12.95 each.
